What? It’s a BMW Jim, but not as we know it. It looks like a car (kind of), drives like a car (kind of) but something’s not right. FHM has discovered that as a general rule cars are made of metal. Shiny metal. This one, however, appears to be made of sticky back plastic and curtains nicked from an insane asylum. Concept car designers have created a prototype gas guzzler out of, that’s right, metres of seamless fabric pulled over a moveable metal frame. Does it look cool? Um, yes. Does it have a point? Not so much.

Why? What this revolutionary design allows for is the ability to open and close doors, lights, boots – while the “skin” of the car accommodates. You want proof? Click on the video if you don’t believe. Before and after shots are available too (see below). The upshot? A car that looks like something out of Logan’s Run, but made by super clever Germans.

When? Not for lowly peasants such as us, it appears. It’s destined for the BMW Museum in Munich for the time being, so it’s time to brush up on your German if you want to see the design masterpiece in the flesh.

"The Bachelorette": Now I know from the emails I get that "Bachelorette" fans watch the show very closely. A few weeks ago many of you emailed me about DeAnna calling Sean, "John." Now I want to know if anybody noticed something weird about the fantasy date cards supposedly written by Chris Harrison. Each bachelor read the note about the fantasy suite and the camera showed it, but that was without a doubt a girl's handwriting...a production assistant I assume. It was not a guy's penmanship. This is my job people. PS I'm pulling for Jason. I think he'll win because DeAnna couldn't be thrilled about Jesse saying he wants to be able to snowboard for like two or three months a year.


"The Men Tell All": Every time they do one of these specials I swear that half the people in the studio were never on the show. The creepiest revelation was that the guy who snuck into her room for a kiss was Jeremy. That guy tried too hard to win and I'm glad he won't. Also creepy...the Canadian guy taking a bubble bath in her tub. What's with that guy and water? Take off, hoser! I'm so happy they brought Greg back and let him do his scream thing.


"Nashville Star": Hannah Montana was a no-show on family day? C'mon Miley, it's network TV, it's not like dad was trying to get you to come down to one of his State Fair gigs. Two people are going home next week. Good...let's trim the fat! Laura and Sophie are toast and Pearl Heart might get spared if the patriotic vote keeps sailor Tommy Stanley on board. The guy on this show that seems like a country singer has gotta be Gabe, but I think Ashlee's got that whole Carrie Underwood thing going and might pull off an upset. I can't believe I'm getting sucked into "Nashville Star"! I actually considered putting my car up on blocks in my front yard and learning harmonica.

"Psychic Kids: Children of the Paranormal": I can't imagine how scary it is to be a cameraman on this show. The cameraman has to go into the haunted house alone to set up the shot where everybody enters the dark and scary rooms. Those guys must get some hazard pay on this show. I was screaming like a little girl even though the little girl psychics didn't seem scared at all. You think it won't freak you out. Watch! Read More......

Angelina Jolie's action thriller Wanted had the best opening ever for an R-rated film released in June and the 6th best opening of all the time for any R-rated film, according to Variety.

But Wanted didn't open at No. 1. WALL-E, the Pixar Animation tale about a robot, opened with $62.5 million in ticket sales, while Jolie's assassin thriller Wanted raked in $51.1 million, the Associated Press reported Sunday.

According to the AP, WALL-E drew moviegoers of all ages.

"The real secret is they're not children's movies. They're movies for everybody. Children absolutely adore them, but parents enjoy them on a different level," Mark Zoradi, president of Disney's motion-picture group told the AP.

Nikki Rocco, head of distribution for Universal, told the AP, "We knew WALL-E would be huge, but it's not the same audience as Wanted."

The same New York Times critic who dissed the Sex and the City movie gave Jolie a rave review.

"With her mean smiley-sneer and snug clothes, her heels and hieroglyphics, she cuts the kind of disciplinarian figure who can bring antsy boys of all ages to their knees or at least into their theater seats," Manohla Dargis wrote. Read More......

As far as I can tell, this phone cannot be procured in the US directly. The US Prada stores don't even carry it, and neither my provider nor LG USA know nothing about it - making it difficult to obtain tech support or to locate accessories that are guaranteed to be compatible.

The phone is beautiful and smaller than the Apple iPhone. The 2 mega pixel camera takes very nice photos and the sound quality is good. It is extremely stylish and is quite rare/unique as most people haven't ever seen one in person. The iPhone takes away from it in that regard however as most people automatically and incorrectly assume the Prada phone is an iPhone. So far, I have received more compliments from strangers on my D&G RAZR.

It doesn't have the iPhone's auto screen rotation and it isn't quite as intuitive as the iPhone - but is still relatively easy to use.

Its biggest plus over the iPhone is its compatibility with networks other than the New AT&T. I use T-Mobile and it works fine with voice and SMS. (I am having some difficulty getting the web browser and MMS to work though.)

Other than web/mms, the biggest issue I have is a flaw with Bluetooth. Whenever it connects to the Bluetooth phone system in my BMW 540i, the phone automatically redials the last number - definitely some sort of design flaw.

To sum up - would I buy it again? Yes, it's a nice phone and very stylish. It's rare which makes it nice to have, but unfortunately most people don't notice it's rare because of the iPhone. (And for people who think it's a knockoff - it did come out first.) ... Read More......
