The Top-Earning Celebrities Over 50

At a time in life when some are coasting into retirement, stars like Madonna and Oprah glow brighter than ever.

At 50, Madonna is still fabulous. Even with her pending divorce from husband Guy Ritchie, it seems the Material Girl is far from slowing down. More likely she's just getting ready to reinvent herself once again. While younger stars like Britney Spears suffer public breakdowns, Madonna keeps putting out new albums and performing in front of millions of people like a machine.

That explains how she made more than $40 million last year, landing her squarely in the middle of our list of Top-Earning Celebrities Over 50, a measure of earnings between June 2007 and June 2008. At a time in life when some people are thinking about winding down and coasting into retirement, these stars glow brighter than ever.

Topping the list is Oprah Winfrey. At age 54, she earned $275 million last year. In addition to her own daytime chat show, Oprah has ownership stakes in a magazine, a station on XM Satellite Radio and a cable channel called OWN: The Oprah Winfrey Network scheduled to debut next year. She also gets a share of the profits from her successful protges, Dr. Phil McGraw and chef Rachael Ray.

Bruce Willis is the only actor to make the list with $41 million last year, mostly from his fourth turn as blue-collar cop John McClane in "Live Free or Die Hard." Most of the in-front-of-the-camera celebrities are talk show hosts like Howard Stern and David Letterman. At 77, Regis Philbin is the oldest person on the list with $21 million.

Producers do well, scoring three of the top five spots. In second place is Jerry Bruckheimer. His latest film, "Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End," was the top-grossing movie of 2007 with $961 million in worldwide box office sales. He is reportedly working on a fourth installment for Disney. Bruckheimer's TV shows, ("CSI," "Cold Case," and "Without a Trace") continue to attract millions of viewers every week. Last year, he earned $145 million at age 63.

Steven Spielberg ranks third on our list with $130 million. At 61, Spielberg is still at the top of his game, overseeing hits like "Transformers" and "Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull." This year, Spielberg's production company DreamWorks broke free of Viacom's Paramount thanks to a $500 million investment from India's Reliance bank. Under the company's new structure Spielberg could get an even bigger chunk of upcoming DreamWorks films like the "Transformers'" sequel. Read More......

What were thery Thinking?

Traci Bingham's mess of a dress is worthy of a good laugh.

Speaking of hideous headgear, what was Rachel Bilson thinking?!

Michelle Williams must have just rolled out of bed because that "dress" looks like a sheet and that 'do is definitely a don't!

Interior decorator/reality TV diva Bobby Trendy continues to embarrass himself in yet another fashion faux pas.

We love us some Pink, but her poncho is far from fabulous!

J.Lo's vile veil is a tad too dramatic.

Paris Hilton's '80s-inspired coif is a complete catastrophe.

Even Rihanna's sexy stilettos can't save this atrocious ensemble.

Christina Aguilera's outfit is acceptable, but her fried mane and garish makeup are practically blinding.

Miley Cyrus leaves the tanning salon with a fake bake that has her looking an awful lot like an Oompa-Loompa.

Star Biography: Beyoncé Knowles

Beyoncé Giselle Knowles (pronounced /biːɒnˈseɪ/ born September 4, 1981), commonly known as Beyoncé, is an American R&B singer-songwriter, record producer, music video director, actress, film producer, dancer, and fashion designer. Knowles rose to fame as the creative force and lead singer of the R&B girl group Destiny's Child, the world's best-selling female group of all time.
After a series of commercially successful releases with the group, Knowles released her debut solo album, Dangerously in Love, in June 2003. The album became one of the biggest commercial successes of the year, topping the albums charts in the United States and the United Kingdom. It also spawned the number-one singles "Crazy in Love" and "Baby Boy" and earned Knowles five Grammy Awards in a single night in 2004. Knowles' second album B'Day was released worldwide on September 4, 2006, coinciding with her twenty-fifth birthday. The album spawned the UK number-one singles "Déjà Vu" and "Beautiful Liar", as well as the worldwide hit "Irreplaceable". It also earned Knowles her seventh solo Grammy Award (she has won ten in total).
Knowles also achieved success in the film industry, starring in such Hollywood films as the 2006 comedy The Pink Panther and the 2006 musical film Dreamgirls, which earned her two Golden Globe Award nominations—one for acting and other for the song "Listen".

In early July 2000, Knowles released her debut solo single "I Got That" along with rapper Amil, but it failed to chart or sell noticeably, topping the Bubbling Under R&B/Hip-Hop Singles. Two years later, Knowles was a featured vocalist on rapper Jay-Z's hit single, "'03 Bonnie & Clyde". In the spring of 2003, Knowles remade a duet with Luther Vandross, "The Closer I Get to You", originally recorded and made famous by Roberta Flack and Donny Hathaway in 1977. In this version, the vocal parts are switched, with Vandross taking Flack's part and Knowles taking Hathaway's. The song made both her debut solo album and Vandross' Dance with My Father album, and the two shared the Grammy Award for "Best R&B Performance by a Duo or Group with Vocals" the following year. She has collaborated with Jay-Z on his eight studio album, Kingdom Come, providing vocals and the hook for the track entitled "Hollywood".

Personal life
Since 2002, Knowles has been in a relationship with rapper Jay-Z, with whom she has also made several collaborations. In spite of persistent rumors, she has not commented on whether or not the couple are engaged. The two have deliberately been private about the nature of their relationship, to avoid excessive media exposure, and for a long time even refused to comment on whether they were dating or not. When asked in September 2007 when the two would marry, Jay-Z replied, "One day soon—let's leave it at that".

New Celebrity Trend

Charity, is the latest fashionable craze in Hollywood. Every now and again it’s great to see all those heavenly bodies we love so much reaching down from their lofty heights to raise someone else up just a little bit. After all, their dazzling smile might win over the hearts of millions but it’s their charitable works that keeps them in our minds as well.

Take, for example Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt, aka Brangelina. This Hollywood power couple has been known throughout their history as very generous and mindful of children the world over. Fox News tells us that they even started their own charitable organization, the Jolie Pitt Foundation, and stocked it with over $8 million dollars of their own hard earned cash in 2006. The charity’s first year’s donations totaled a simply amazing $2,367,935 spread out over six causes and with only a small overhead of $27,000 for expenses. And that’s just the tip of the Brangelina philanthropist iceberg; Pitt has since started the Make It Right Foundation that is dedicated to rebuilding New Orleans ninth ward, and Pitt has also contributed to the Not On Our Watch fund designed to help Darfur. Definitely adds just that extra bit of spice to get me out on June 27th when Angelina’s new movie Wanted hits theaters and again on the 12th of September when Brad’s Burn After Reading is set to premiere. Now they have that extra armchair philanthropist appeal - see anything Brangelina’s been in and you know a portion of the proceeds is going to worthy causes.

Well who else is just giving it away? Courteney Cox, her husband David Arquette and Jennifer Anniston. These three friends are challenging members of the Hollywood community to raise $1 million in just two weeks to benefit the Epidermolysis Bullosa Medical Research Foundation. BBC News tells us that the disease is a rare genetic condition that affects the skin of children, causing large ulcerous sores to form on the skin that don’t heal. Us Magazine says so far they’ve gotten Eva Longoria Parker, Kate Beckinsale, Orlando Bloom, Rashida Jones, and James Marsden on board for donations. It’s great knowing that this Sunday night when I’m staying up to watch Dirt, I’m not just feeding my need for seedy gossip I’m also helping kids with skin disease.

PETE WENTZ INTENTO SUICIDARSE
Thu Mar 20 14:55:03 -0500 2008

Pete Wentz, integrante de la banda Fall Out Boy, recientemente hablò a MTV, sobre la vez que intentò suicidarse. "Me subì a mi carro.
