The Top-Earning Celebrities Over 50

At a time in life when some are coasting into retirement, stars like Madonna and Oprah glow brighter than ever.

At 50, Madonna is still fabulous. Even with her pending divorce from husband Guy Ritchie, it seems the Material Girl is far from slowing down. More likely she's just getting ready to reinvent herself once again. While younger stars like Britney Spears suffer public breakdowns, Madonna keeps putting out new albums and performing in front of millions of people like a machine.

That explains how she made more than $40 million last year, landing her squarely in the middle of our list of Top-Earning Celebrities Over 50, a measure of earnings between June 2007 and June 2008. At a time in life when some people are thinking about winding down and coasting into retirement, these stars glow brighter than ever.

Topping the list is Oprah Winfrey. At age 54, she earned $275 million last year. In addition to her own daytime chat show, Oprah has ownership stakes in a magazine, a station on XM Satellite Radio and a cable channel called OWN: The Oprah Winfrey Network scheduled to debut next year. She also gets a share of the profits from her successful protges, Dr. Phil McGraw and chef Rachael Ray.

Bruce Willis is the only actor to make the list with $41 million last year, mostly from his fourth turn as blue-collar cop John McClane in "Live Free or Die Hard." Most of the in-front-of-the-camera celebrities are talk show hosts like Howard Stern and David Letterman. At 77, Regis Philbin is the oldest person on the list with $21 million.

Producers do well, scoring three of the top five spots. In second place is Jerry Bruckheimer. His latest film, "Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End," was the top-grossing movie of 2007 with $961 million in worldwide box office sales. He is reportedly working on a fourth installment for Disney. Bruckheimer's TV shows, ("CSI," "Cold Case," and "Without a Trace") continue to attract millions of viewers every week. Last year, he earned $145 million at age 63.

Steven Spielberg ranks third on our list with $130 million. At 61, Spielberg is still at the top of his game, overseeing hits like "Transformers" and "Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull." This year, Spielberg's production company DreamWorks broke free of Viacom's Paramount thanks to a $500 million investment from India's Reliance bank. Under the company's new structure Spielberg could get an even bigger chunk of upcoming DreamWorks films like the "Transformers'" sequel. Read More......

Report: Madonna, Guy Ritchie Settle Divorce

Guy Ritchie and Madonna have settled their divorce, according to the U.K. publication, The Sun. The "RocknRolla" director will reportedly walk away with assets totaling around $60 million, but what material possessions will the Material Girl be left with?
Madonna will hold on to her New York and Los Angeles homes and most of her considerable fortune, The Sun reported.

"The negotiations were relatively painless," The Sun quoted a source as saying. "Guy knew what he wanted and Madonna knew what she was keen to keep. There was a spell when Guy was in a mood to dig his heels in, but he decided this arrangement seemed reasonable and a long battle over money would make life unbearable."

Madonna is being represented by divorce lawyer Fiona Shackleton, who formerly represented Paul McCartney in his divorce from Heather Mills. Shackleton reportedly negotiated Madonna's divorce terms during a day of phone calls with Guy's lawyers.

The former couple reportedly expects to reach a compromise over their three kids -- Lourdes, 12, who is the daughter of Madonna and ex Carlos Leon, and sons Rocco, 8, and David, 3.

With the divorce all but out of the way, Guy, who's in London filming "Sherlock Holmes" with Robert Downey Jr., is reportedly ready to move on romantically as well.

Madonna reveals tales about new album, 'Hard Candy'

The album, which will be the singer's 11th studio effort, will be released on April 28, with first single '4 Minutes' out on physical release a week before.

"I really enjoy writing with Justin, he's a fun person to write with," she said of her collaboration with Timberlake on the single.

"We kind of of had psychoanalytic sessions whenever we wrote songs. We'd start talking about relationships with people. That was the only way because you know, writing together with somebody is intimate.

"I haven't worked with a lot of songwriters where I'm instantly connected and started riffing and playing with the rhythm of words. He's as interested in the rhythm of words as the meaning of words."

The singer also revealed how her collaboration with Kanye West on 'Beat Goes On' was rush recorded so that he could make a flight and how she briefly picked up a guitar during her recording with Timbaland.

She told Interview Magazine: "There was this big sense of urgency. Kanye only had four hours and I had to finish it before he had to catch an aeroplane. On 'Miles Away' I did play the guitar, but I got double tracked by one of Timbaland's musicians.

"Right now I'm operating in the mode, 'Live everyday like it's your last day'. So there's a sense of urgency in everything I do." Read More......

PETE WENTZ INTENTO SUICIDARSE
Thu Mar 20 14:55:03 -0500 2008

Pete Wentz, integrante de la banda Fall Out Boy, recientemente hablò a MTV, sobre la vez que intentò suicidarse. "Me subì a mi carro.
