Sarah Harding to marry DJ

Girls Aloud singer Sarah Harding is set to marry after her DJ lover proposed with a horse.
Today's video is The Godfathers - I Want Everything

The blonde singer - who fell in love with horses after learning to play polo for reality TV show 'The Passions of Girls Aloud' - was thrilled when boyfriend Tom Crane asked her to be his wife after presenting her with the unconventional gift.

A source told Britain’s Daily Star newspaper: "Anyone can buy a diamond ring but what Sarah loves about Tom is that he is so original.

"He spent ages trying to find the perfect animal for Sarah to play polo on and he settled on a 16-hands, bay-coloured beauty called Spirit. "He introduced them last week and asked Sarah if she would consider marrying him. She was bowled over and said 'Yes' straight away."

Meanwhile, Sarah has thrown the upcoming Girls Aloud tour into chaos after seriously injuring her back. The 26-year-old star was lifting a heavy box when she pulled a muscle and was rushed to hospital for immediate treatment. Sarah was ordered to rest for a month by doctors if she has any chance of being fit for the gruelling string of shows, which kick off in Belfast, Northern Ireland, on May 3.

A source said: "Sarah is so stressed and in complete agony. She keeps breaking down and crying. Their show is the biggest yet but Sarah is unable to rehearse."

The other girls, Nadine Coyle, Cheryl Cole, Nicola Roberts and Kimberley Walsh, may have to alter the dance routines to accommodate their injured bandmate ahead of the 'Tangled Up' tour. Read More......

Madonna reveals tales about new album, 'Hard Candy'

The album, which will be the singer's 11th studio effort, will be released on April 28, with first single '4 Minutes' out on physical release a week before.

"I really enjoy writing with Justin, he's a fun person to write with," she said of her collaboration with Timberlake on the single.

"We kind of of had psychoanalytic sessions whenever we wrote songs. We'd start talking about relationships with people. That was the only way because you know, writing together with somebody is intimate.

"I haven't worked with a lot of songwriters where I'm instantly connected and started riffing and playing with the rhythm of words. He's as interested in the rhythm of words as the meaning of words."

The singer also revealed how her collaboration with Kanye West on 'Beat Goes On' was rush recorded so that he could make a flight and how she briefly picked up a guitar during her recording with Timbaland.

She told Interview Magazine: "There was this big sense of urgency. Kanye only had four hours and I had to finish it before he had to catch an aeroplane. On 'Miles Away' I did play the guitar, but I got double tracked by one of Timbaland's musicians.

"Right now I'm operating in the mode, 'Live everyday like it's your last day'. So there's a sense of urgency in everything I do." Read More......

Rolling Stones Review Album Shine A Light

THE ROLLING STONES 'Shine A Light’ is the soundtrack to director Martin Scorsese’s film of the same name, which documents The Rolling Stones’ performances at New York’s Beacon Theatre on October 29 and November 1, 2006.
Today's video is The Godfathers - I Want Everything

With special guests Jack White and Christina Aguilera joining the Stones onstage. This two-disc set comprises twenty-two tracks, four of which are not included in the film.

I wasn’t too impressed with this album, but then again I wasn’t expecting to be. It includes all the classics ('Paint It Black’, 'Satisfaction’, 'Brown Sugar’, 'Start Me Up’ etc), as well as some lesser known songs, but these versions are all shadows of the original recordings.

Jagger shouts and pouts his way throught the classics and the band are generally pretty sloppy. The acoustic guitars have a horrible thin piezo sound that would never make it within ten feet of a 'Stones studio album. 'Shattered’, the opening track, is particularly weak. I have immense respect for Keith Richards as a guitarist, but they really shouldn’t let him sing. In his condition and all. His vocal on 'Connection’ sounds like drunken karaoke.

Jack White’s guest spot on 'Loving Cup’ works well, but Christina Aguilera bellows her way through 'Live With Me’ – I was hoping for better from such an acomplished singer, still the backing band were prety rough around the edges which probably didn’t help. Apparently there’s a Buddy Guy collaboration on the CD too but it didn’t appear on my review copy. The title track 'Shine A Light’ (never before released as a live recording) works well.

Don’t get me wrong - I like the Rolling Stones! I just didn’t lke this album. I’m sure that there was a great atmosphere at the live show, but as a stand alone audio product I’m just not convinced. The songs aren’t awful, but they are very weak in comparison to the recordings I know and love. If you’re a 'Stones completist then get yourself a copy, but otherwise you’d be better off spending your hard earned on Beggars Banquet or Sticky Fingers. Read More......

Kylie given mistaken all clear

Kylie Minogue was told she didn't have breast cancer by a doctor when she was actually suffering from the disease.
Today's video is The Godfathers - I Want Everything

The 'Wow' singer has revealed she was initially misdiagnosed when she went for a check-up before she embarked on her 'Showgirl' tour in 2005. She told US talk show host Ellen DeGeneres: "This is an opportunity for me to say something that I have not said before. I was misdiagnosed initially.

"So my message to all of you and everyone at home is, because someone is in a white coat and using big medical instruments doesn't necessarily mean they are right.

"So yeah, I actually did my 'Showgirl' tour having been for a check-up and told everything was fine." Kylie didn't reveal the date of the misdiagnosis, whether it happened in her native Australia or Britain and how long she went before her second doctor's appointment.

The 39-year-old star postponed her tour after she was diagnosed with breast cancer in May 2005. After a long battle, in which she underwent chemotherapy and lost her hair, she was given the all-clear in 2006. However, she recently revealed her battle with cancer will never be over.

She said: "It's not over. The 'voyage' doesn't end suddenly. That's why it's so difficult to talk about it." Read More......

J. Timberlake To The Green

First, they saved it from the auction block last fall. Now, an ownership group that includes entertainer Justin Timberlake is seeking to transform a 303-acre golf course property south of Millington into a facility built to design standards unmatched in Tennessee and in few places elsewhere in the world.

A group of partners led by former Millington resident Timberlake, his mother and stepfather bought the Big Creek Golf Course for an undisclosed amount late last year before it was scheduled to be sold by John Roebuck Auction Co. Design plans for the property, which the city-county Land Use Control Board will vote on Thursday, confirm what the new ownership group has maintained all along - that something big is in the works there.

Platinum design
One example: The group wants to remove an existing clubhouse, maintenance building, swimming pool, tennis courts and parking lot from the sprawling property. In their place would be an upscale clubhouse, cart cottage and maintenance facility built to the highest of the U.S. Green Building Council's Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design standards (LEED).

The highest LEED certification carries the "platinum" designation. And that addition to the Millington-area property will create the first such platinum-certified LEED building and golf course in Tennessee, according to a letter of intent sent to local planners in February by the project's engineer.

"Also anticipated is a practice driving range, three-hole practice links course, a renewable energy field and a walking trail with educational placards and seating for the public to learn about responsible energy and natural resource usage," wrote Eric Criswell, of the engineering firm Davis Patrikios Criswell Inc.

The LUCB will vote at its meeting this week on the creation of a planned development at the site, which is on the east side of the Big Creek Drainage Canal and on the south side of Woodstock-Cuba Road.

The property, at 6195 Woodstock-Cuba Road, was developed as a golf course in the 1970s.

Something big at Big Creek
The owners, via Criswell, declined to discuss the project in advance of this week's vote by the LUCB. When asked about the golf course renovation, Criswell would only say, "This project has got a lot of people involved, and it's a pretty big project."

The project's letter of intent goes on to describe the refurbished site as eventually a community gathering point of sorts.

"The proposed clubhouse building and existing golf course will be used as a course and facility fully accessible to the public for golf or public meetings such as PTA meetings, neighborhood association meetings, graduations or weddings," the letter states.

His involvement in the golf course project there reflects Timberlake's enthusiastic pursuit of the sport. By coincidence, it was announced shortly after word
spread last year of Timberlake's family buying the Millington-area golf course that Timberlake himself would host his first PGA Tour event in Las Vegas later this year, in October. Read More......

Rihanna plasters nipples

Rihanna has an unusual use for plasters - she uses them as nipple covers.
Today's video is The Godfathers - I Want Everything - The 'Umbrella' singer relies on the sticky medical bandages to prevent any red carpet wardrobe malfunctions. She said: "I love plasters. They are great for shoe blisters, as nipple covers and also for nail mishaps - people just think you have a cut." Rihanna - who is rumoured to be dating R'n'B singer Chris Brown - also admits she had a crush on her musical idol Mariah Carey when she was growing up in Barbados. She added to Britain's InStyle magazine: "I was in love with Mariah Carey when I was younger. I thought she was flawless. I also loved Marilyn Monroe's timeless look. And I love everything Madonna does - she switches it up and that's what I like to do. I hate sticking with the same thing all the time."

ID-theft

By Andrea Coombes

Buyer beware when choosing identity-theft-protection products
SAN FRANCISCO (MarketWatch) -- Plenty of products promise to help consumers avoid identity theft, but none of them is foolproof.
If a product claims to prevent identity theft, that should raise red flags for consumers, said Linda Foley, founder of the Identity Theft Resource Center in San Diego. "You can't protect a person from identity theft. It's impossible. All we can do is minimize our risk."

And, while these products can reduce your likelihood of becoming a victim, many employ methods that consumers can use on their own, for free.
Fraud alertsMany products offer to place fraud alerts on consumers' credit reports, so when a retailer or creditor checks your report in response to a request for a new credit card or financing for that plasma television, the fraud alert tells them to double-check that the person seeking credit is you. Ideally, the creditor delays extending credit until reaching you.
But alerts "are not the silver bullet that people are looking for," said Guillaume Deybach, chief executive of Europ Assistance USA, a Washington-based company offering travel aid and identity-theft assistance.

Drawbacks: Alerts focus only on thieves opening new credit lines in your name, not the use of existing accounts. Also, some retailers don't check credit reports before extending credit and those that do don't always try to reach you -- they may just ask the thief some easy-to-answer questions. Still, alerts increase the chance you'll be contacted if someone applies for credit in your name.

Consumers can call or go online to each of the three credit reporting agencies (Experian, Equifax and TransUnion) to place a fraud alert for free. "It's easier to do it by phone," said Paul Stephens, director of policy and advocacy for the San Diego-based Privacy Rights Clearinghouse. "It's faster, and you're not going to get as much of a sales pitch."
Generally, fraud alerts expire after 90 days. If you don't want to bother remembering to renew alerts, several companies, such as LifeLock, sell the service of placing alerts for you, for about $10 a month, or bundled into pricier packages that include other services.
Credit freezeAlternatively, you can place a credit freeze to lock up your report at each of the three bureaus, preventing new credit being extended in your name. This won't affect your access to current credit lines, but will delay your access to new credit (it takes about three days to lift a freeze). Freezes aren't advised for people in precarious financial positions who might need to borrow money in a hurry. But for consumers prepared for unexpected financial emergencies, a credit freeze is a powerful way to stop thieves.
Drawback: Freezes don't stop thieves tapping existing credit or bank accounts, nor do they address other identity theft, such as when a thief provides your name as his identity when pulled over for a traffic violation.
Consumers can freeze their reports by calling each of the three agencies. It generally costs $10 to place a freeze ($30 to freeze all three major reports) and $10 to lift each freeze (these costs are sometimes waived.) For more details, visit FinancialPrivacyNow.org.

Or, you can pay for a product that includes a credit freeze, such as offered by TrustedID and others.
Credit monitoringMonitoring products alert consumers when changes appear on their credit reports.

Drawback: There's often a significant time lag between credit activity and its appearance on your report. Still, monitoring may help you realize sooner that you've become an identity theft victim, enabling you to start resolving the issue before more damage ensues.
Consumers can do their own form of credit monitoring by requesting a free annual credit report from each of the three main credit bureaus on a rotating basis (one request every four months). Go to AnnualCreditReport.com.

Or, you can pay a company for the convenience of having alerts emailed to you. Make sure the company monitors all three bureaus.

Data-sweep servicesCompanies will scour the Internet for your personal information, alerting you to potential misuses of your identity. These services cover an array of online information, including real estate and criminal records. One example is MyPublicInfo's "public information profile," about $80 for one report and six months of access to their member resources.
Drawback: They don't prevent identity theft; they alert you when it might be happening.
"The fraud alert, the credit freeze, the credit monitoring, some of the tips to protect your information and identity, none of them are silver bullets, but all of them contribute to prevent it from happening and all increase your awareness when something is odd" with your accounts, Deybach said. "It's really about raising the awareness of individuals ... so whenever something happens they can take care of the issue and act."

Insurance and victim resolution servicesIdentity-theft insurance helps cover the costs associated with the crime. Your homeowners or renters insurance, or your bank account, may include such insurance already, so check before purchasing. Consumer advocates say the value of such insurance is debatable, since financial losses are often not extensive and credit-card companies generally cover consumers' losses.

Still, insurance could be useful if the policy covers debit-card losses and lost wages due to your time spent resolving the crime. Visit PrivacyRights.org for more on the risks of debit cards.
As for victim resolution services, some nonprofit and state agencies will help for free, though the services companies sell may offer valuable convenience. Visit IDTheftCenter.org for more information.

Protect yourself

Keep a close eye on your financial accounts, whether online or by monitoring paper statements, to be alerted quickly should you become an identity theft victim.
If you prefer plastic to cash -- and you've got discipline -- use a credit card instead of a debit card for purchases. Credit cards come with stronger consumer protections.
To avoid identity thieves online, keep your computer protections up-to-date, including antispyware and antivirus programs, and don't click on links in email messages. Avoid unsecured Wi-Fi networks unless your computer encrypts transmissions.
Don't save passwords on your computer, and turn on password-protection features for your portable devices.

Lock up sensitive financial information stored at home.
Talk to your kids about refraining from posting an abundance of private information on social-networking sites, and do the same yourself.
Avoid leaving sensitive data in your car, where it could easily be stolen.
Use post office mailboxes to send mail, and shred documents before tossing. Read More......
